CSC RO VI will hold R.A.C.E to Serve Fun Run

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) Regional Office VI is inviting everyone to join the R.A.C.E (Responsible, Accessible, Courteous, and Effective Public Service) to Serve Fun Run on September 1, 2019, 5:00 am at SM City Iloilo Southpoint, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

The Fun Run has two (2) categories of 3K and 5K distances. Cash prizes awaits to the winners of the Fun Run while special awards shall also be given to participants.

CSC RO VI welcomes new Regional Director

Director IV Nelson G. Sarmiento, CSC RO VI Regional Director

The Civil Service Regional Office VI welcomes its new Regional Director, Director IV Nelson G. Sarmiento who assumed office on June 17, 2019. Director IV Sarmiento started his career at the Civil Service Commission in 1989 at the office of then CSC Chairperson Patricia Sto. Tomas. He afterwards transferred to the Social Security System (SSS) for five years, and spent the next fifteen years of his career in the private sector. On November 2003, he rejoined the Civil Service Commission as Special Investigator IV of the Office for the Legal Affairs (OLA) and subsequently with the Examination Recruitment and Placement Office (ERPO) in the CSC Central Office. In 2004, he was conferred the Career Executive Office Eligibility (CEO) after passing the Career Service Executive Officer Examination (CSEE). Continue reading

Local Treasury test results released

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) conferred recently the Local Treasurer Eligibility on 651 individuals who passed the Basic Competency on Local Treasury Examination (BCLTE) held October 14 this year. The figure represents 16.62 percent of the 3,916 total examinees.

The United Nations (UN) General Assembly designated December 9 as the International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD) aimed at raising awareness on corruption and on the role of the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) in the anti-corruption agenda. This year, the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) adopted as theme, “United Against Corruption.” The theme calls for an inclusive and united power to stand and fight against corruption which is important in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

CSC releases 2019 civil service exams calendar

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced the schedule of civil service examinations to be conducted in 2019 via the Pen and Paper mode.

The CSC, through its regional offices nationwide, will administer four types of eligibility examinations with the following schedule—Career Service Examination for Foreign Service Officer (CSE-FSO)–Jan. 27; Career Service Examination, Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) for Professional and Subprofessional levels–Mar. 17 and Aug. 4; and Basic Competency on Local Treasury Examination (BCLTE)–June 23.

Results of August 12 Career Service exams released

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has disclosed that of the 181,985 examinees of the Career Service Professional and Subprofessional examinations held nationwide on August 12, 2018, a total of 22,087 or 12.14 percent passed the government test.

CSC releases results of Local Treasury Test

A total of 533 individuals shall be conferred the Local Treasury Eligibility after passing the Basic Competency on Local Treasury Examination (BCLTE) conducted on June 24, 2018.

The figure, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) said, represents 17.19% of the total number of examinees.

The Civil Service Commission Regional Office VI (CSC RO VI) held the Recognition Program for the 2018 Honor Awards Program (HAP) Regional Winners on September 6, 2018 at the SM City Iloilo North Wing, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

The HAP is an annual Search for Outstanding Government Workers which covers three categories: (1) Presidential Lingkod Bayan, (2) CSC Pagasa, and (3) Dangal ng Bayan awards.

The Civil Service Commission Regional Office VI (CSC RO VI) will hold the GOVERNMENT JOB FAIR on September 7-8, 2018 at the SM City Iloilo North Wing, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

Said activity, which is part of the celebration of the 118th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA), will be launched on September 7, 1:00PM.

Around 15 government agencies will participate in the Job Fair. It aims to make accessible, transparent, and open vacancies to highly qualified talents and job seekers in the government service.

CSC confers Parangal sa Lingkod Bayani to awardees from region 6

 

Director II Erna T. Elizan of the CSC FO-Negros Occidental confers the Parangal sa Lingkod Bayani for the late Firefighter Sabu J. Espina of the CAAP Bacolod-Silay Airport on August 16, 2018. Present during the awarding were CAAP officials led by Airport Manager I Martin T. Terre and the family of the late Mr. Espina.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) conferred the Parangal sa Lingkod Bayani to deceased civil servants from region 6, namely, Firefighter I Sabu J. Espina of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Area VI, Bacolod-Silay Airport and Police Officer I Joefel T. Odon of the Regional Mobile Force Batallion, Philippine National Police (PNP) Police Regional Office 6.

In CSC Memorandum Circular No. 10, s. 2018, pursuant to Proclamation No. 282 dated July 31, 2018 declaring August as “ASEAN Month,” government agencies are reminded of their compliance with CSC MC No. 6, s. 2016 issued on February 29, 2018 enjoining agencies to participate in the continuing information campaign on ASEAN.

Government agencies are encouraged to expand their commemorative programs and activities to the whole month of August and to add more focus in their messaging on how ASEAN integration and community-building has provided concrete benefits to the people.

Exam Announcement

The Civil Service Commission announces the conduct of the Pre-Employment Test, Promotional Test, and Ethics-Oriented Personality Test (EOPT) on October 24, 2018. The tests are for government agencies opting to adopt any or all of the tests to be part of their screening process on recruitment, placement, and promotion. All applications shall be coursed through the agency adopting any or all of the tests.

Filing of applications will be from June 25 to August 24, 2018. In Region 6, the testing center will be in Iloilo City.

118th PCSA Update: Government Choral Competition

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is inviting all government choral groups to participate in this year’s Government Choral Competition.

Deadline for submission of entries to designated regional centers will be on June 15, 2018.

The grand winner will receive a plaque and cash prize of P200,000. Special awards will also be given to participants.

In CSC Memorandum Circular No. 6, s. 2018, all government agencies are encouraged to post the 118th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) tarpaulin on conspicuous areas in their respective offices. The design and specifications of the tarpaulin may be downloaded through this link: http://www.csc.gov.ph/pcsa2018.

Civil servants are also enjoined to participate in the activities for the 118th PCSA in September, with the theme:

“Lingkod Bayani: Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makabayan.”

RESCHEDULING OF THE FOE, POE, and BCLTE

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) advises examinees of the June 17, 2018 Fire Officer Examination (FOE), Penology Officer Examination (POE), and Basic Competency on Local Treasury Examination (BCLTE) that the said exams have been moved to a later date, June 24, 2018.

The rescheduling is implemented to ensure efficient, timely discharge of preparatory/administrative requirements and procedures for the conduct of the examinations in light of the observance of two national holidays: Araw ng Kalayaan on June 12, and Eid’l Fitr or end of Ramadan on June 15.

REGIONAL MEMO CIRCULAR NO. 2, S. 2018

(Re: Smoking Prohibition based on 100% Smoke-free Environment & Protection of the Bureaucracy Against Tobacco Industry Interference)

The Civil Service Commission RO VI reiterates compliance of CSC Memorandum Circular No. 17, s. 2009 and CSC-DOH Joint Memorandum Circular 2010-01.

Heads of government offices are encouraged to post/display “No Smoking” signages in conspicuous areas within their premises pursuant to CSC MC No. 17, s. 2009, and ensure that all their employees and transacting public are made aware of the said MC and the prohibition on smoking except in designated outdoor areas, and to assign responsible person/s to: (1) Ensure implementation and compliance with the policy; (2) establish procedures for reporting and dealing with violation; and (3) monitor and report on rates of compliance and effectiveness of the policy.

Heads of agencies/offices are also reminded to inform all their officials and employees of the policy against tobacco industry interference and to amend their respective Codes of Conduct by incorporating the rules provided in Annex A of the CSC-DOH Joint MC.

David of the Civil Service Commission Iloilo Field Office awards the CNA Certificate of Registration to the Local Government Unit Employees’ Association of Dueñas (LEAD) on March 12, 2018. Director David also awarded the CNA Certificate of Registration to the Local Employees’ Association of Pavia (LEAP) on February 5, 2018. On the other hand, Certificates of Accreditation were awarded to the Guimaras Employees’ Association and Kalibo Association of Municipal Employees on February 5 and 26, 2018.
