The Civil Service Commission Regional Office IV spearheads the conduct of the 2017 Government Choral Competition.
Said competition is one of the activities lined up for the 117th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary with the theme, “Tugon sa Hamon ng Pagbabago: Malasakit ng Lingkod Bayani.” The Choral Competition aims to showcase musical creativity of government employees, promote Filipino culture and arts through choral singing, and inculcate in the minds of public servants a culture of excellence in public service.
The Examination, Recruitment, and Placement Office (ERPO) of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) recently issued Advisory No. 09, s. 2017. In said advisory, passers of the May 3, 2015 Career Service Examination- Paper and Pencil Test (Professional and Subprofessional levels) may now personally claim their CSC Eligibility Card at the CSC Regional Office where they took the examination.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) recently released the result of the Anti-Red Tape Act Report Card Survey (ARTA-RCS) for 2016.
The ARTA-RCS is a client feedback survey used to gather information on how government offices comply with the provisions of their Citizen’s Charter, obtain information/estimates of hidden costs incurred by clients accessing frontline services, and rate agency’s performance and client satisfaction in relation to frontline service delivery.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) calls for nominations to the 2017 Search for Outstanding Government Workers, an annual Search that forms part of CSC’s Honor Awards Program (HAP).
The HAP is open to all elective and appointive officials and employees holding permanent, temporary, coterminous, contractual, and casual status of employment in the government, whether stationed in the Philippines or abroad. Appointive barangay officials and employees may be nominated upon meeting certain conditions. For group nominees, maximum number of members is 10. Posthumous nominations may also be made for a public official or employee who died in the line of duty or in the pursuit of his/her official duties and responsibilities in the last 12 months.
The Civil Service Commission Regional Office VI (CSC RO VI) recently released its Training Plan for 2017.
As the central human resource institution of the government, CSC shall be responsible for the coordination and integration of a continuing program of personnel development in the first and second levels.
Per Civil Service Commission Examination Advisory No. 03, s. 2017 dated January 11, 2017, the CSC announces that there will be no conduct of the Fire Officer Examination (FOE) and Penology Officer Examination (POE) for 2017.
Existing policy prescribes the conduct of FOE and POE in 2016 and every other year thereafter. As such, said examinations will be conducted again in 2018. An examination announcement will be issued by the CSC by the 4th quarter of 2017.
The Civil Service Commission Regional Office No. VI joins the nation in the 18-day campaign on the Elimination of Violence Against Women (VAW) which runs from November 25 to December 12, 2016.
This year’s theme is “VAW-Free Community Starts With Me,” which gives emphasis on everyone’s commitment and contributions to ending VAW and the continued pursuit for a VAW-free community.
The 2017 Career Service Examination, Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) for Professional and SubProfessional levels will be conducted on March 12 and August 6, 2017.
This was announced by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), adding that application period for the March 12, 2017 CSE-PPT will run from November 14, 2016 to January 13, 2017. For the August 6, 2017 examination, applications may be submitted from April 3 to June 2, 2017.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will conduct the Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT), both Professional and Sub-professional levels, in Hong Kong on November 27, 2016.
The exam is open to overseas Filipino workers currently based in Hong Kong and Macau who are at least 18 years old on the date of registration. Interested applicants may register from November 4 to 13, 2016.
Smoking will not only be prohibited in government offices, but in all public places nationwide.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has expressed support to President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s plan to sign an Executive Order (EO) that will ban tobacco smoking in all public places. Through the EO, Filipinos can expect a nationwide smoking ban akin to Davao City’s 100% smoke-free policy.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) would like to inform the public that the 8888 Citizen’s Complaint Center will be unavailable from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. of November 1. This is in compliance with Section 5(e) of Executive Order No. 6 on Operating Hours which provides that: “The 8888 Citizen’s Complaint Center shall operate, through any of its communication channels, 24/7… excluding national holidays and work suspensions.”
Hotline 8888 will resume operations at 12:00 a.m. of November 2.

It has come to the attention of the Civil Service Commission Regional Office No. 6 (CSC RO6) that there were callers using the name of the Commission and some of its officials asking for assistance in the form of cash or kind.
The CSC RO6 warns the public not to entertain such callers. Should you encounter such caller, please report the incident immediately to the nearest CSC Regional or Field Office.
