Application for Foreign Service Officer Exam ongoing

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) calls for applications for the Qualifying Test for Foreign Service Officer Examination (FSOE) on January 28, 2018.

Applications should be submitted in person at any Regional Consular Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), or Philippine embassies and consulates abroad until December 1, 2017 or at the DFA-Board of Foreign Service Examinations, Pasay City until December 8. Admission fee is P500.

R.A.C.E. To Serve VII Fun Run

To Serve VII Fun Run for the Female- Government Category covering 3K distance. Around 1,300 runners from the private and government sectors participated in the activity held on September 3, 2017 in Mandurriao, Iloilo City. R.A.C.E. To Serve VII Fun Run is one of the activities lined up for the 117th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary. Proceeds of the Fun Run will go to the Pondong Pamanang Lingkod Bayan for the benefit of families of civil servants who died or were killed while performing their duties. The Fun Run covered 3K and 5K distances.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) radio program “Serbisyong Todo-todo” was recently renamed “Serbisyo Pilipinas.” “Serbisyo Pilipinas” started airing last July 5, 2017 over DZRB Radyo Pilipinas (formerly DZRB Radyo ng Bayan, 738 kHz).

CSC to lead 117th PCSA celebration

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will lead the celebration of the 117th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) this September 2017.

This year’s theme is “Tugon sa Hamon ng Pagbabago: Malasakit ng Lingkod Bayani,” which reminds civil servants of manifesting malasakit in public service. Various activities are lined up at the national, regional, and agency levels. Heads of government offices are encouraged to display the 117th PCSA Banner in their respective offices. The design and specifications of said banner can be downloaded from the CSC website http://www.csc.gov.ph.

Results of Foreign Service Officer eligibility exam bared

Fifty-nine (59) out of 405 examinees or 14.57% passed the Career Service Examination for Foreign Service Officer (CSE-FSO) conducted by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on May 21, 2017 in nine regions.

Ma. Filonila Alcaraz from the National Capital Region (NCR) garnered the highest rating of 90.81 from this batch of hopefuls.

CSC suspends August 6 career service exam in Iligan City

In light of the current state of hostility in Marawi City, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has suspended the conduct of the Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) at the Iligan City Testing Center scheduled on August 6, 2017. The suspension covers both Professional and Sub-professional levels of the said exam.

Around 1,000 examinees are assigned to take the CSE-PPT at the Iligan City Testing Center. Majority of them comes from Marawi City.

The CSC advised all examinees affected by the said suspension to standby for further advisories on the resetting of the examination, which shall be posted on the CSC website.

CSC celebrates “Dekada na ang ARTA”

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) celebrates “Dekada na ang ARTA,” after 10 years of implementation of Republic Act No. 9485 or the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007, which was signed into law on June 2, 2007.

The ARTA aims to promote efficiency and transparency in government with regard to the manner of transacting with the public. As provided by Article II, Section 27 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution, the State shall maintain honesty and integrity in public service and shall take positive and effective measures against graft and corruption.

The Civil Service Commission Regional Office IV spearheads the conduct of the 2017 Government Choral Competition.

Said competition is one of the activities lined up for the 117th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary with the theme, “Tugon sa Hamon ng Pagbabago: Malasakit ng Lingkod Bayani.” The Choral Competition aims to showcase musical creativity of government employees, promote Filipino culture and arts through choral singing, and inculcate in the minds of public servants a culture of excellence in public service.

The Examination, Recruitment, and Placement Office (ERPO) of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) recently issued Advisory No. 09, s. 2017. In said advisory, passers of the May 3, 2015 Career Service Examination- Paper and Pencil Test (Professional and Subprofessional levels) may now personally claim their CSC Eligibility Card at the CSC Regional Office where they took the examination.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) recently released the result of the Anti-Red Tape Act Report Card Survey (ARTA-RCS) for 2016.

The ARTA-RCS is a client feedback survey used to gather information on how government offices comply with the provisions of their Citizen’s Charter, obtain information/estimates of hidden costs incurred by clients accessing frontline services, and rate agency’s performance and client satisfaction in relation to frontline service delivery.

2017 Search for Outstanding Government Workers opens

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) calls for nominations to the 2017 Search for Outstanding Government Workers, an annual Search that forms part of CSC’s Honor Awards Program (HAP).

The HAP is open to all elective and appointive officials and employees holding permanent, temporary, coterminous, contractual, and casual status of employment in the government, whether stationed in the Philippines or abroad. Appointive barangay officials and employees may be nominated upon meeting certain conditions. For group nominees, maximum number of members is 10. Posthumous nominations may also be made for a public official or employee who died in the line of duty or in the pursuit of his/her official duties and responsibilities in the last 12 months.

Advisory on FOE & POE

Per Civil Service Commission Examination Advisory No. 03, s. 2017 dated January 11, 2017, the CSC announces that there will be no conduct of the Fire Officer Examination (FOE) and Penology Officer Examination (POE) for 2017.

Existing policy prescribes the conduct of FOE and POE in 2016 and every other year thereafter. As such, said examinations will be conducted again in 2018. An examination announcement will be issued by the CSC by the 4th quarter of 2017.

CSC RO VI joins 18-Day Campaign to End VAW

The Civil Service Commission Regional Office No. VI joins the nation in the 18-day campaign on the Elimination of Violence Against Women (VAW) which runs from November 25 to December 12, 2016.

This year’s theme is “VAW-Free Community Starts With Me,” which gives emphasis on everyone’s commitment and contributions to ending VAW and the continued pursuit for a VAW-free community.

CSC releases 2017 Career Service Examination calendar

The 2017 Career Service Examination, Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) for Professional and SubProfessional levels will be conducted on March 12 and August 6, 2017.

This was announced by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), adding that application period for the March 12, 2017 CSE-PPT will run from November 14, 2016 to January 13, 2017. For the August 6, 2017 examination, applications may be submitted from April 3 to June 2, 2017.

CSC offers career service exam for overseas workers in Hong Kong, Macau

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will conduct the Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT), both Professional and Sub-professional levels, in Hong Kong on November 27, 2016.

The exam is open to overseas Filipino workers currently based in Hong Kong and Macau who are at least 18 years old on the date of registration. Interested applicants may register from November 4 to 13, 2016.

CSC supports President for a smoke-free Philippines

Smoking will not only be prohibited in government offices, but in all public places nationwide.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has expressed support to President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s plan to sign an Executive Order (EO) that will ban tobacco smoking in all public places. Through the EO, Filipinos can expect a nationwide smoking ban akin to Davao City’s 100% smoke-free policy.

CSC Announcement on Hotline 8888

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) would like to inform the public that the 8888 Citizen’s Complaint Center will be unavailable from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. of November 1. This is in compliance with Section 5(e) of Executive Order No. 6 on Operating Hours which provides that: “The 8888 Citizen’s Complaint Center shall operate, through any of its communication channels, 24/7… excluding national holidays and work suspensions.”

Hotline 8888 will resume operations at 12:00 a.m. of November 2.
