The Civil Service Commission issues accreditation to three (3) government employees’ organization in Western Visayas. These organizations are: the Carles Municipal Employees Association (CARMEA) of the Municipal Government of Carles, Iloilo; the New Makato Government Employees Association (NMGEA) of the Municipal Government of Makato, Makato, Aklan; and, the Iloilo State College of Fisheries Teachers and Employees Association, Inc. of the Iloilo State College of Fisheries, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.
Pursuant to the Amended Rules and Regulations of Executive Order No. 180, adopted in Public Sector Labor Management Council (PSLMC) Resolution No. 2, s. 2004, which lays down the policies for the accreditation of employees’ organizations, these accredited organizations are now the sole and exclusive representatives of all the rank-and-file employees for purposes of collective negotiations with their management on terms and conditions of employment not fixed by law with their respective agencies.
To reinforce the CSC’s mandate of promoting responsive management and responsible public sector unions as key partners for effective governance, the Certificates of Registration of the accredited organizations were awarded in a ceremony spearheaded by the respective field directors of CSC RO VI. Director II John Esar T. David of CSC Field Office led the awarding ceremonies for Carles Municipal Employees Association and the Iloilo State College of Fisheries Teachers and Employees Association, Inc. held on June 3, 2019 and May 29, 2019 respectively. Meanwhile, Director II Evelyn N. Ejar of Aklan Field Office awarded the Certificate of Accreditation of New Makato Government Employees Association (NMGEA) on June 17, 2019.
By accrediting government employee organizations, the Civil Service Commission undertakes to promote responsive management and responsive public sector unionism as key partners for effective governance.
