The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will spearhead the celebration of the 116th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary this September 2016.
With the theme, “Sigaw ng Lingkod Bayani: Malasakit Para Sa Taumbayan, Kapwa Kawani, at Kalikasan,” the month-long celebration aims to instill malasakit or compassion with action for health, the environment, deserving public servants, and the Filipino public who are clients of government offices.
Activities lined up for the month-long celebration in region 6 are as follows:
- R.A.C.E. To Serve VI Fun Run

The Fun Run is open to all government employees and private individuals. It aims to promote healthy lifestyle and social consciousness as well as provide financial assistance to the families of civil servants who died or were killed while performing their duties. Registration is ongoing and forms may be downloaded at cscro6.wordpress.com or ro6.csc.gov.ph. Proceeds of the Fun Run will be given to the Pondong Pamanang Lingkod Bayan. 2. Government Express at the Mall

The activity serves as a one-stop shop of government frontline services. 3. Honor Awards Program (HAP) Awarding of Regional Winners

The Honor Awards Program (HAP) Regional Winners for the CSC Pagasa, Dangal ng Bayan, and Presidential Lingkod Bayan categories will be given recognition for their exemplary performance, ethical behavior, and outstanding accomplishments. 4. Coastal Clean-up and Mangrove Planting
To show care for the environment, CSC RO6 in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) RO6 and support of the Regional Association of National Government Executives (RANGE) 6, will hold the Coastal Clean-up and Mangrove Planting activities in selected areas in region 6. 5. Display of the 116th PCSA Banner
All Heads of government offices are enjoined to display the 116th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) banner in the façade of their respective agencies pursuant to CSC Memorandum Circular No. 9, s. 2016. The suggested size of the banner is 8×6 feet, but agencies may opt to print a smaller version, or post instead the digital copy on their digital billboards/monitors. For laying out the banner, the use of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, or Corel Draw, is suggested. The banner template and fonts may be downloaded at www.csc.gov.ph (Please click PCSA 2016). 6. Agency-led Activities
Government agencies/offices are also encouraged to conduct their own activities in line with the 116th PCSA celebration.
Aside from the regional-led activities, the Commission is spearheading the Government Choral Competition to be held on September 13, 2016 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The Guimaras Capitol Chorale, which is the sole representative of Visayas cluster, will compete in the said event.
On the other hand, special discounts and treats are also in store for government employees as a token of appreciation for their dedication and hard work. Civil servants who are able to show their official government agency ID and SM Advantage Card can avail of 10% discount on regular-priced items for a minimum purchase of P2,000 at the SM Store from September 23-25, 2016.
