CSC opens Gov’t. Choral Competition

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) recently opened the 2016 Government Choral Competition.

The competition, which is spearheaded by CSC Regional Office No. 4, aims to showcase musical creativity of government employees, promote Filipino culture and arts through choral singing, and inculcate a culture of excellence in public service. It is also one of the activities lined up for the 116th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.

In this regard, heads of government offices are encouraged to participate in the Government Choral Competition. The Guidelines of the competition and entry form may be secured at the CSC Regional and Field Offices. The same may also be downloaded at and

For government offices in Visayas, deadline for submission of entries at the CSC Regional Office No. 6 (focal office), No. 7 Oñate St., Mandurriao, Iloilo City, will be on June 17, 2016.

The grand finals of the Government Choral Competition will be held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Pasay City, on September 13, 2016. The grand prize winner will receive a plaque and P200,000 cash award while the first, second, and third runners up will receive a plaque and P150,000, P100,000, and P75,000 cash, respectively. Special awards for Best Conductor and Best Arrangement of the Competition Song are also at stake.
