Affordable medicines. Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Enrique T. Ona and Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chair Francisco T. Duque III forge a Memorandum of Agreement creating the “Botika para sa Taumbayan” (BPT) Program. In the said program, the DOH shall grant the CSC an initial P15 million worth of medicines to initiate the establishment of drug retail stores in 300 government agencies. Similar to a Botika ng Barangay, BPT outlets will sell low priced, high quality medicines. Duque said that the establishment of BPT outlets in government offices is in line with the CSC’s commitment to promote morale and wellness in the public sector and provide additional health benefits for state workers.
