November 2 Not a Holiday

MANILA, Philippines (PNA) — A Palace official on Tuesday said November 2 (All Soul’s Day) has not been declared a holiday.

Executive Secretary Paquito “Jojo” Ochoa said only November 1 (All Saint’s Day) was declared a holiday to allow Filipinos to visit their dead loved ones.

In previous years, November 2 was declared a holiday, as part of the former administration’s “holiday economics”.

This year, November 2, which falls on a Tuesday, remains a regular working day.

”He [President Benigno Aquino] did not sign any proclamation,” Ochoa said.
